The
screening started on Wednesday 9th May, 2018 and end on Friday 8th June, 2018.
The exercise commences by 12pm on 9th May, 2018 coordinated by Coach Niran,
Coach Jimoh and Olokun Gbenga, the secretary, Dickalo Football Academy staff.
Thirty
(30) players were invited by the academy from the competition held at
Akerebiata (2nd Edition of Dockalo Nig. Ltd. Football Competition).
First day, 31 players were in attendance, while on the
third day, 79 players came for the screening and that was the highest
attendance recorded throughout the exercise.
Today, 8th June, 2018 being the last day of the screening
exercise; 35 players were in attendance and out of these players 21 players
will be finally selected for the academy.
However, during the screening exercise, the chairman/sponsor
of the academy, Arc. Komolafe Olubunmi visited the venue on different occasion to
check on how the screening exercise was being carried out and the performance
of the players.
The screening team played two friendly matches; the first
match was with the All Stars Team which ended in goalless draw and the second
match was with United Academy which ended 1 – 0 in favour of the Screening
Team.
Finally, 28 players were selected for the next stage of the
Screening in which they will be contacted by text message to resume in the next
two weeks which will last for a week. After that, the final list of player selected
will be announced and the Dickalo Football Academy will start formally.
